Women 'want to look like celebrities'Posted on: May 24, 2013 15:45:39
The average woman would like to swap her own appearance for a mixture of her favourite celebrities' best features, a new study has revealed.
Washboard abs like Jessica Ennis, Samantha Cameron's nose and Kelly Brook's waistline were highlighted among the most popular body parts for idealistic ladies, many of whom could be on the lookout for a new partner.
According to a study commissioned by Morrisons, the average woman would love to have wavy hair like opera singer Katherine Jenkins, along with the pins of Beyonce and eyes like former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.
Researchers discovered that females are working increasingly hard to get in shape at the moment, with 46 per cent claiming they always strive to improve their health and fitness.
It also seems women are getting more confident about their natural body shape, which could be good news for those trying to find love online, with only one in five claiming they were not happy with their figure.
On top of this, 61 per cent of respondents said that starting a healthy eating regime helps to improve their confidence, while a quarter admit that avoiding junk food including chocolate would make them feel better about their body shape.
Commenting on the study's findings, Bryonie Holleart - a nutritionist for Morrisons' healthy food range NuMe - said that while some women still want to look like celebrities, they are aware that getting the perfect body requires hard work at home and in the gym.
She explained: "It's clear too that many people will give up their best intentions, often because it's hard to keep cooking healthy meals, maintain an expensive diet plan, all while putting in hours in on the treadmill.
"Often though, just making a few, small, simple changes to your lifestyle can have a big effect."
