Women don't relax around new partner for monthsPosted on: April 5, 2013 16:16:53
During the first few weeks of a relationship it isn't unusual for people to remain on their best behaviour, not wanting to reveal too many of their bad habits.
However, according to a new poll, most women don't completely reveal their true selves for as long as seven and a half months into the dating process.
Until that stage, most females are likely to hold in that little burp they might have wanted to release, and refuse to reveal what they look like without any makeup on in the morning, the Daily Mail reports.
After this time, the fairer sex feel more comfortable with their new partner and are willing to act "more like themselves".
While feeling content enough to be 100 per cent relaxed in one another's company is a great stage to reach, not everything necessarily needs to be shared in order to keep the romance alive.
Despite this, females admitted after this seven and a half month stint of keeping up appearances they are more likely to wear casual clothes in front of their partner, visit them without any makeup on and stop worrying about wearing matching underwear.
Not only that, but the poll by mycelebrityfashion.co.uk found many weren't bothered about their other half catching them picking their nose, passing wind and even going to the toilet later on in the relationship.
Bobbie Malpass, editor of the website, said: "Certain women will probably say that they never do any of this in front of their boyfriend but let's be honest ladies, we all do it."
Studies in the past have also suggested that women take longer to feel comfortable enough to reveal what they're really like, warts and all.
Last month, a survey revealed that most women avoid showing their fella what they look like without makeup for as long as a month.
According to Debra Robson's semi permanent makeup company, who did the research, more than a third of girls have got out of bed and secretly applied some slap before their other half wakes up.
