Top tips: How to text a girl

Posted on: March 20, 2013 13:49:39

Top tips: How to text a girlOne of the beauties of using technology when dating is that you can let someone know exactly how you feel without having to say it to their face.

For people who are shy or might just find it difficult letting someone know they are keen to meet up again after their first date, a cheeky text can do the trick.

However, for men who are hoping to work their magic with a special lady in their life, one dating expert has urged you to err on the side of caution when it comes to turning to your phone.

"One of the first things a guy needs to understand is that texting is not an effective way to build attraction or create chemistry with a woman. It is a tool that men should use to try to garner an in-person meeting with a woman," Carlos Xuma advises.

The expert, who has offered relationship advice for over a decade, believes that if men have a proper understanding of the purpose and goal of a text, then half the battle is already won.

"The reason so many men fail to attract women through texting is that they think they can create chemistry through typing little words on a screen," he adds.

"Unless a guy is a playwright or poet, he should not even attempt to attract a woman by texting her."

Basically blokes, technology shouldn't be used as a platform to make someone like you. Instead, it should be used as an aid, in addition to what you can offer on a face-to-face level.

Texting won't make a woman fall in love with you and won't "make her wild and ready to get intimate" either, Mr Xuma suggests.

"A guy who counts on texting a girl he has just met is almost bound to end up in trouble," he concludes.

So, while it can help to break the ice and keep in touch, remember to ditch the phone when things start hotting up with a member of the opposite sex, before you find that you're the one being ditched.
