Things to look out for on a cinema date

Posted on: October 16, 2013 13:16:12

Things to look out for on a cinema dateGoing to the cinema on a first date may not be the pastime of choice for many singles, but doing so could actually tell you a lot about your new partner's personality.

According to new research, giving your date the chance to select where in the theatre they would like to sit gives a good indication of their personality traits.

Research carried out by psychologist Hiromi Mizuki suggested that the inner workings of an individual's heart and mind can affect where they would like to sit.

The scientist said that individuals who like to watch a movie from a seat in the centre of the cinema directly in front of the screen are more confident and decisive than those who choose to sit elsewhere.

As this choice of seat is traditionally seen as the best in the theatre, usually requiring advanced booking, Mizuki suggested it shows a degree of assertiveness and forward planning - thus backing up her theory.

On the other hand, Mizuki said that people who chose a seat at the back of the cinema with the screen directly in front are calm and collected, while those choosing a seat away from the action are timid and worried about the influence of others.

What's more, individuals who enjoy going out with friends and being sociable tend to sit in the thick of the buzz - often in the front row, directly in front of the screen.

Mizuki said: "Because these seats fill your whole field of vision with the screen, people who choose these seats have a desire to be constantly connected with others."

The findings could give singles a good indication of what type of person their date is if they go out to the cinema. It could be an idea to let your date lead the way in order to see where their ideal seating position is.

And, you never know, those who pick a spot on the back row may be looking for a little bit more than a good view.ADNFCR-2828-ID-801650013-ADNFCR
