The online dating racePosted on: January 6, 2014 16:22:05
New research has revealed how likely single people are to get a message from an online dating site throughout 2014.
According to MailOnline, age matters more to men than women as females aged 25-years-old get the most messages, while 33-year-olds get the fewest. However, age doesn't matter for those looking for a single man, as their wage and education were more important.
A 'thin' 25-year-old Catholic woman with a dog and who drinks three times a week is the most likely type of singleton to get the most messages this year. According to the research, her last relationship should have lasted between three and eight years too.
For single men, you will need to be a Christian, athletic man with brown hair, who puts on his profile that he wants children, drinks with friends and makes between £60,000-£90,000 a year to get the most messages.
The MailOnline reports that more than 1.8 million messages were examined between 81,000 singles between the ages of 25 and 35 in America. The team of researchers analysed a number of traits including attributes, demographics, physical traits and length of profiles to identify try and discover what made certain profiles more attractive than others online.
It seems that drinking socially is an attractive trait as women who didn't enjoy a tipple received 24 per cent fewer messages than those who said they did, according to the data from Plenty of Fish.
Women who describe themselves as Catholic get 20 per cent more messages than people from other religions, while those who see themselves as thin gain 41 per cent more interactions that other females.
Those who were aged 25 and 26 were the most attractive as they received more than 14 per cent more messages, while those who earned between £30,000 - £45,000 also received 14 per cent more posts than women who didn't.
Men on the otherhand, needed to earn £45,000-£90,000 to make them the most attractive, which is significantly higher than the women's wage packet.
