Whether you prefer to keep it neat and tidy, smooth and shaved, or opt for the long-haired, rough and rugged look, a hairstyle can actually have a pretty big impact on how you are perceived.
When meeting up with a potential new partner for the first time, it is always best to stick to what you know and avoid doing anything too drastically different to your usual style.

In a recent study, David Beckham's mane topped the poll of the most emulated style by men.
Over the years, the superstar footballer has experimented with many different trends - some perhaps worth avoiding if you are hoping to bag a date today - ranging from corn-rows and a mohawk, to the more classic slicked-back look he is currently sporting.
The study by Fudge found that hairdos can not only change a man's appearance, but can also transform how they feel about themselves.
Half of the men in the survey admitted a decent haircut made them feel more confident and as many as a third of respondents revealed they felt more attractive.
Also making an appearance in the list of most desirable hairstyles were Gary Barlow, Robert Pattinson and cyclist Bradley Wiggins.
John Vial, creative director for Fudge, said it comes as no surprise that David Beckham is the modern man's hairstyle icon because his versatility is achievable for the everyday bloke.
"The man of the moment's influence on the hair of the nation confirms that when a sportsman endorses something, it automatically makes it more masculine and ultimately, desirable."
On average, men spend 24 minutes perfecting their hair before going on a night out, the study found, with Glaswegians spending the most amount of time preening.
Meanwhile, guys from Essex are most likely to be the ones caught checking themselves out in the mirror and chaps from the north are the most frequent visitors to the salon, the research found.
