Online dating 'finds friends as well as love'

Online dating can be the perfect way for people to meet new friends as well as finding love.

According to the Scotsman, the method of looking for a new partner is becoming increasingly accepted in society.

A woman named Megan revealed to the publication how she used online dating for 12 months and made friends with a couple of men, who she is still in contact with.

"I liked online dating because you can make a list of demands - things that you want - but you can word it in a friendly way," she explained.

She also said people responding to her profile boosted her confidence, as prior to the experience, she did not "feel like a catch".

Megan added that looking for love online made her "much flirtier".

Meanwhile, Canada.com pointed out that online dating is also good value for money, as a monthly subscription costs less than a single date, while resulting in more potential partners.
