Older women are more sexually active, study finds

Adult singles who are getting that little bit older may be interested to know that pleasure between the sheets is unlikely to wane with age.

This has been shown in a new study published in the American Journal of Medicine which revealed that sexual satisfaction gets better as people get older.

Frequent orgasms and becoming aroused on a regular basis are also things that seem to increase with age, the researchers at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine (SDSM) and the Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System found.

Elizabeth Barrett-Connor of the SDSM said: "These results suggest that women engage in sexual activity for multiple reasons, which may include affirmation or sustenance of a relationship."

She added that the research showed 67 per cent of people questioned achieve orgasm most of the time or every time they have intercourse.
