New wristband aims to unite singlesPosted on: August 22, 2013 13:08:28
Looking for a relationship can be difficult enough without having to juggle a busy professional life with friends, family and your hobbies, so it is no wonder that some people feel like giving up before they find that special someone.
In many cases, even singles who think they have a connection with a hot guy at work or a woman they see at the gym are often left surprised when they realise their potential new partner is already off the market.
But a new invention aims to bring an end to all this complication, allowing those who are looking for love to put themselves out there without even saying a word.
Danish-British couple Rina Mardahl and Rob Young have launched a special new wristband, which they hope will unite singles around the world. Inspired by their own whirlwind romance, the MY Single Band invention could be the answer to the problems of unattached people who simply cannot seem to find love, reports the Daily Mail.
Ms Mardahl and Mr Young, who are set to launch the band in the UK and US in the coming weeks, said the invention will help "increase new encounters, lower the fear of first introductions and suit busy modern lifestyles".
The added: "The launch of MY Single Band is a revolutionary concept. When worn, the band visibly identifies that the wearer is single, just like a wedding ring shows you are married.
"MY Single Band not only impresses upon others that there is so much choice out there, but also where that choice lies."
The bands come in seven different colours and are embossed with the words fate, destiny and future.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Mr Young said the couple recognised the difficulty some singles experience when trying to meet similar people - so the band provides an identifier that could appeal to the mass market.
