Men 'happy to embrace their feminine side'Posted on: April 17, 2013 15:46:24
The majority of UK men are happy to embrace their feminine side every now and then and have no problem enjoying activities normally associated with women, new research has revealed.
Although traditional 'manly' pursuits such as playing sport and sinking a pint in the pub remain popular, many British blokes have also admitted to a fondness for pedicures, baking and bubble baths.
The survey, carried out by Lambrini to mark the launch of its new product aimed at male consumers, indicates that men are increasingly prepared to indulge their feminine side.
Single females on the UK dating scene may have already noticed this change, particularly if their suitors have been turning up with immaculate fingernails, some freshly baked cupcakes and a tub of moisturiser in their pocket.
Former Hollyoaks and Holby City actor Jeremy Edwards, taking part in the launch of 'Ladbrini', said men "are expected to take care of themselves these days".
He added: "Women want a man who takes pride in his appearance and we all have our guilty pleasures."
Lambrini and Ladbrini brand manager Lorna Tweed insisted that "men no longer need to feel embarrassed about luxuries reserved just for girls, with the research revealing women actually like a man with feminine qualities".
The survey was published shortly after separate research by VoucherCodesPro.co.uk revealed that the majority of British men prefer 'natural' women to those who have undergone cosmetic surgery.
Despite the growing popularity of cosmetic procedures in recent years, the survey found that 60 per cent of men would say no if they had the option for their partner to go under the knife.
"It would take somebody with a fair amount of courage to tell their partner that they'd benefit from cosmetic surgery," commented a spokesman for the voucher codes company.
