Men 'are drawn to a woman's eyes'

Posted on: August 22, 2013 11:27:23

Men Most women would probably assume that men focus solely on their cleavage during an initial encounter, as very often it feels like guys assume you cannot notice their attention focusing on your chest.

But it seems males are actually a little more considerate than we may assume, as blokes actually notice our eyes and smile first when meeting for the first time - or passing each other in the street.

Research carried out by Murine eye drops revealed that the stereotype of men's eyes being drawn to a lady's breasts upon the first sight are actually wide of the mark - as 70 per cent of males revealed they prefer focusing on a woman's eyes.

A nice smile came second on the list, while cleavage came in third. On top of this, analysts - who questioned 1,000 men - found hair and weight were also high on the list.

Male eyes are also drawn to a woman's legs, dress sense, bottom, height and the condition of her skin.

Similarly, a significant proportion of the 1,000 women who were also questioned as part of the study said they looked at a man's eyes to form an accurate impression of his personality.

Results also showed that females also pay particular attention to a guy's smile, height and hair.

Commenting on the study, a spokesperson for Murine eye drops said the eyes tell a lot about a person's intentions, so it is not surprising that singles look to the peepers for telltale signs.

The official added: "This study almost crushes the common stereotype that the first thing men look at is a woman’s chest, however it came third on the list so it’s not quite a changed habit.

”Getting attention from the opposite sex boosts your confidence so using your eyes and smile in positive ways really gives you a good chance of getting welcomed attention, even if it’s innocent."
