Dating agency users 'no different to everyone else'

When people reveal that they met their partner through a UK singlesdating agency, there may be some sceptics who recoil in horror at the thought.

However, new research has revealed that those who find love online are no different to singletons who head to a bar or club to meet someone new.

Conducted by Jeffery Hall from the University of Kansas, the study questioned more than 5,000 people aged between 18 and 60.

"Our findings dispel the myth that people using online dating are that different than any one else who might find a relationship through friends, school or work," the expert explained.

If people using an online dating agency are eager to discover more about lonely hearts on the net, they can view the study in the latest issue of the Journal of Social and Personal Relationships.

An author named Meredith recently advised one reader of Boston.com's Love Letters section that they should not expect to be instantly attracted to someone, as "getting a crush" can take time.
