Britons 'value mobile phones over sex'

Posted on: May 21, 2013 13:10:37

Britons While the constantly-evolving world of technology has provided endless opportunities for singles all over the world, the use of smartphones and laptops can often become a bugbear for many individuals who are in a relationship.

However, new research has revealed that modern-day gadgets have become more important to both men and women than they may think - with some people even valuing the items more than their own partner.

A study carried out by MobileInsurance.co.uk discovered 94 per cent of Britons said they would rather live without sex for a week than have their mobile phone taken away from them, reports Female First.

With people becoming even more dependent on their technology devices for communicating via social media and online dating websites, it seems some would refuse to hand over the gadgets - even if it meant they were deprived of raunchy encounters.

Over two thirds of respondents admitted they could not survive without their phones, with some claiming they would rather live without their partner entirely for seven days.

Worryingly, nine per cent of Britons said they would be willing to go without seeing their own children for a week than live without their smartphone.

Commenting on the findings, Jason Brockman - director of MobileInsurance.co.uk - said it is surprising that many individuals would sacrifice communicating with other members of their family to keep their phone.

He added: "It was intriguing to see that some people would even be willing to go without any other human contact for seven days instead of their phone and, as for the nine per cent that would go without seeing their own children for a week instead of their phone, perhaps they need to get their priorities straight."

Mobile dating is a great way for adults to meet others who are looking for love via their mobile phones, but it is important not to get too swept up in the moment by giving up real life communication.ADNFCR-2828-ID-801588301-ADNFCR
