British couples 'love a good row'Posted on: October 14, 2013 15:51:20
It is definitely safe to say that us Britons love a good moan, whether it be about the weather, our lack of money or waiting in a queue behind a particularly slow individual - give us the chance to blow off some steam and we will take it.
But as our reputation as a critical nation often precedes us, it seems many people are taking their frustrations out on their partner when they return home from a hard day at the office.
According to a new study from NetVoucherCodes.co.uk, some Britons will happily row with their partner about a variety of topics - including money, religion, sport, politics and how to look after the children.
And not only that. People who are romantically involved often find that some rather trivial things tipped them over the edge. For example, if their partner forgot to change an empty loo roll, or whose turn it was to buy the shopping on the way home.
Household chores were another bugbear for couples, with failure to make the beds in a morning, leaving the house in a mess and forgetting to clean the bathroom also making the list of argument topics.
In fact, our love of arguments is often so apparent that a select few individuals will happily start a spat with their other half because they were bored and enjoyed making up with them later on.
According to the study, the top five topics of dispute among British couples are money, children, sex, politics and religion. However, more trivial things such as what to have for dinner, directions and what to watch on TV were featured in the top ten.
A spokesman for NetVoucherCodes.co.uk said: "Sometimes a good argument is needed to clear the air and get things on an even keel. There are always going to be triggers for tiffs, like money and the kids but I have to admit, some of the more trivial ones did raise a smile."
