Average man believes he's better looking than celebsPosted on: April 29, 2013 20:27:31
The average male in the UK believes he is more handsome than Wayne Rooney, James Corden and Michael McIntyre, according to research.
In the study, it found that some blokes think they are more attractive than a number of well-groomed stars, as well as being better looking than at least five of their mates.
The findings also revealed that many blokes are pretty comfortable about how they look, with as many as 54 per cent of confident respondents admitting they believe one of their partners' pals has had a soft spot for them.
Not only that, but British blokes are happy to reveal that they check out their reflection in the mirror at least five times a day.
A spokesman for the Celebalike iPhone app, which conducted the study to find out how vain some men can be, said the stats prove that most aren't short on confidence.
"Confidence can definitely come across as either vanity or arrogance," he said. "We love to read about what men really think about themselves, especially as it's not brought up very often, but it's clear that becoming a celebrity doesn't necessarily impress other men or intimidate them in the looks department."
In fact, many guys were bemused by the kind of celebrities that were deemed handsome by members of the fairer sex, with a large number stating they believe they are a much better catch than the likes of ladies' favourite Russell Brand and Simon Cowell.
Others in the survey even believed they were more of a stud than David Beckham and Hollywood star Gerard Butler.
"A male's view of celebrity culture is stereotypically non-existent but here we can see that that's far from the truth," the spokesperson said. "Men have to know about celebrities to be able to tell if they are better looking."
